WANT TO KNOW OUR STORY ?
My name is Aleksandra Szewczuk and I am CEO of KOSMOS band. I am a visual artist graduated Fine Academy of Arts with master degree in Poland in 2008. My biggest passion is painting , textile and fashion design.
We are thrilled that everyone who uses our bags knows they are getting a unique, made with attention to details, multi-functional worthy of real slow fashion lover product.
Before I created KOSMOS brand I was a mother of a four-year-old son, buried in home duties and trying to reconcile them with work as a painter and illustrator. Like every mother I had to take care of a million home things, and because I did not have a car I did everything on foot. I had to carry with me not only the necessary things that you must have with you when you have a small child, but also to save time doing shopping along the way.
One day I realized that it would be easier for me if I had a large and light bag with me. I did not find anything that stylistically suited me on the market, so I decided to sew the bag myself.
I wanted the bag to be light and durable. I wanted it to be from the least environmentally invasive materials.
I wanted it to serve me as long as possible, to have pockets inside and belt, fitted to the trolley. I wanted the bag to be designer in a minimalistic style, without all the trinkets usually on the bags.
When I sewed my bag, I was surprised how many women asked me where I bought it. When I said I did it myself, they asked me if I could make this bag for them.
I was concerned about opening a business. I didn’t have any experience in it, I was always freelancer.
I decided to create the most high-end, unique, functional and vegan bag for the most demanding (like me) costumers in the world.
It turns out, the road was more difficult than I imagined.
I had to learn how to run a company, run marketing, find the right producers of materials, and find workers who were equally interested in doing one hundred percent of their work. I feared I won’t find as many costumers as I needed to run a company. I worked 7 days a week, often till late hours spending less time with my son.
Through it all, we released our first products and the response has been pure love from everyone who sees the product. Every year we have more people that are coming back for our products saying that they can’t use anymore regular bags.
